
PROVENCE COOKING & PAINTING CLASSES
If you are in Provence for a few days, we can offer you "à la carte" cooking classes and painting lessons, either near Avignon or Aix en Provence.
Painting classes:
In Aix en Provence, you have the choice of a design class or a painting class, for individuals, with English speaking teachers. Everything will be provided to you, all the materials.
Artist painter born in Aix, classes are based on the Impressionism mostly and the landscapes of Cezanne. Monique will take you outside of Aix to paint in the country as well as in the atelier. The classes are either during morning or afternoon, and a minimum of 3 to 4 classes ( 3 to 4 hours per class). Cost for 1 to 4 persons : 550 Euros and up depending on the number of persons and the number of hours. 5 days workshops are available.
Graphic designer, & pure "dessin", drawing lessons workshops available per day in Aix. Portraits, monuments of Aix, provencal markets, you will design either at the atelier or in the streets of Aix with your teacher.

Classes are either per day, around 250 Euros per person (material is provided entirely) or 2 days or a one week package. Please email us for more information.
From Avignon "à la carte " private painting day tours
Private Painting Lesson / Lubéron:
Come in Provence for painting facing lavender fields in blossom! An artist offer to share with you his passion for painting.
9.00 am: Pick up at your hotel in Avignon. Visit of the lavender museum in Coustellet: thanks to a 10 minute movie and a wonderful collection of copper stills, dating from the 16th century to modern times, we will explain you the history of this thousand year old plant.
Continue to Gordes, stunning village which took its rightful place among the most beautiful in France, clinging to the slopes of Mount Luberon.
12.30 pm: Picnic in the lavender fields in blossom (drinks included).
1.30 pm: Enjoy a 4 hour painting lesson conducted under the expert guidance of a provençal artist in a wild landscape : 80 hectares of fine lavender in Lagarde d’Apt which have been grown by the Lincelé Family in a farm located in the Monts of Vaucluse at 1,100 meters high. Paint your own painting of a wild Lavender Field in blossom!
7.00 pm: drop off at the hotel.

Private Painting Lesson / Arles:
Come in Provence for painting facing sunflower fields in blossom! An artist offer to share with you his passion for painting.
9.00 am: Pick up at your hotel in Avignon. Guided tour in Arles in Van Gogh’s footsteps : the Place du Forum for the ‘Evening Café’, the Place Lamartine for the ‘Yellow House’, the Espace Van Gogh for the ‘Hospital Garden’. Discover the city forever associated with the name of the artist.
12.30 pm: lunch in a provençal restaurant in Arles or surroundings (drinks included).
2.00 pm: 4 hour painting lesson in the fascinating sceneries of Provence which provide endless source of inspiration for artists. Enjoy the exceptional light that attracted Van Gogh to the South while painting a Sunflower Field!
7.00 pm: drop off at the hotel.

COOKING CLASSES in PROVENCE: Most famous chefs in Provence offers private cooking classes with a minimum of 2 persons . They are either morning or afternoon classes, in Aix or in Avignon region.

Near Aix en Provence, in an antique bastide in the heart of the Aix-en-Provence country-side offers its private park, only 15 minutes from the town center.
COOKING LESSONS with Chef Marc Heracle:
Traditional provencal cooking. Preparation of a three course meal with the help of local provencal recipes. The type of recipes used are simple but well known. In an Italian park each step reveals the rich aromas so well known to the local cuisine.
One can not resist collecting the wild perfumed herbs to prepare the succulant old fashio-ned tasty mediterranean delights.You will be transferred to a beautiful private XVIIIth. century bastide for this cooking class.
Provencal Market Country Cooking: This workshop is designed for French and English speaking people with our bilingual managerial staff.
Target:
* From local and seasonal produce, Provencal recipes are elaborated, easy to handle, within culinary techniques. After elaboration, savor these menus in a pleasant environmental setting. You will leave this workshop with the recipes of your preparation and a free wine pack.
Timetable:
9 am: gathering on the market place of Aix en Provence, discovering the local produce, choosing while comparing prices and then purchase (by the Chef).
10:00am: Travel to the cooking site, XVIIIth. century private castle
10:30 am: In the kitchen for your cooking lesson: chopping, preparation, cooking and tasting.
1:00 pm: Time to enjoy an aperitif, then to sit down and enjoy the meal you have prepared. you will also taste wine from the Château
* OPTIONAL: To complete your day, visit of the visit of a wine cellar
This private cooking day is for a minimum of 2 persons, we can organize this cooking class from Avignon as well with your transfers for the day.

Cooking classes are offered all year round except in July and August for groups of 2 to 12 people.
The courses cover one, two or three days.
Cooking classes and initiation into the truffle
Wine tasting in a Châteauneuf du Pape wine cellar
The classes depend on the wishes and ambitions of the group. Course content is established by the people in the group based on the chosen dates.
Basic program:
A welcome breakfast or cocktail
Two hours of classes (with 4 or 5 Provençal recipes in general : rabbit profiterolles, discs of sea bass, stuffed vegetables, Niçois meat stew, red mullet biscuit with eggplant, fruit beignets).
Prestigious hotel 4 star offering private cooking classes in central Avignon:
The best "chefs" in the area are invited to lead you through their recipes of provençal and french cuisine.
The classes are set in a genuine 19th century kitchen, and are a practical, "hand-on" experience, limited to a maximum of 12 participants (minimum of 6), working around the kitchen table. The original wood-fired, cast-iron oven of the kitchen dates back to the 19th century and adds to the ambiance of the old kitchen. This is an entertaining way to encounter Provence's lifestyle and people. The different dishes you prepare are savoured at the end of the class with selected wines.
It is possible to attend between 1 and 4 of these morning clases from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as well as an evening session starting at 6 p.m.. During these evening sessions, participants prepare a whole dinner for themselves and others (eg. husband, friends...) they wish to invite. These classes are usually scheduled for Fridays. We also offer some pastry classes from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Wonderful Chef "Jean jacques Prevot", passionnated person about his work has created near Avignon a restaurant based on the cooking of Melon ( Canteloupe) . You can also visit his museum of the melon.
From 9 to 10 am: A real Chef artist, Jean jacques Prevot offers as well painting classes.
From 10 to 11:45 am: Visit of the Provençal market of Cavaillon for tasting local products with producers.
Cooking course in the restaurant, drink offered by Jean-Jacques Prévôt and tasting of the meal prepared by the participants.
Cooking course can be attended by half a day (usually on wednesday or thursday night) from 5 to 7:30 pm, followed on from a drink and the meal served in the same conditions.
Cooking Course / Avignon + Châteauneuf du Pape

8.00 am: Pick up at your hotel in Avignon. Arrival to the charming restaurant in Avignon and registration of the trainees. Creation of recipe cards to be performed. Theoretical demonstration with Practice. During the Apéritif, various thinkings about the course given together with how to accomodate the meals with wine.
12:00: Lunch with the Chef Jean-Marc LARRUE and informal talk about the course presented.
3.00 pm: Departure to Tavel or Vacqueyras (according to availability of the winery).
Wine-tasting in a cellar in Tavel, first Rosé wine in France, or , in Vacqueyras, exceptional soil located at the foot of the majestic Dentelles de Montmirail and the Mont Ventoux.
Continue to Châteauneuf-du-Pape for wine-tasting in a cellar, called «the 13 vine-plant’s country. In each cellar, you will discover the history of the house and the guide or the wine owner will offer you a visit of the winery with explanations about the harvest, the AOC Côtes du Rhônes.
6.00 pm: drop off at the hotel.
